A Playground in London

"This what? What is this?"

'We are ourselves.'

"You're speaking in riddles River." He smirked and leaned down to whisper in her ear. "I didn't know I was marrying a claw."

'Im smarter than i show.' She smiles. 'get used to it.'

"I want to know everything about you River Seth."

'You do know most things.'

"But I want to know everything. The good, the bad, the ugly and in turn, I'll tell you everything about me. Provided you want to know of course."

'Of course i want to know. ask me what you want to know then.'

He pulled her down with him as he sat down under the tree. "Just start from the beginning."

She sat with her back to him, linking her fingers though his. 'It started with my father...what doesnt? He always tried to keep me and crouch seperate, and hated it when we because close. so he started.' She took a breath. 'He took my magic to make me a squib. then he took me away from my family, wiping our memories and giving me new ones. Ones of a family called the seths. they were lovely. and i killed them.' Her hands tighten on his, hit hurt her to talk about it

He squeezed her hand and leaned over to kiss her on the lips. "If you don't want to talk about it you don't have to."

'Its fine. The school took me in...It became my home. Dumbledore protected me from everything- the ministry knew that i had killed them, because the aurors found me. But he didnt let them take me. he told me that they werent my family, but never told me who i was. for that, i hated him but...Now i can see why.'

"You were raised on a lie. How come you didn't resent them?"

'resented who? the seths? i couldnt. they still raised me like their own...and the school- they tried to protect me from all of this.'

"That's where you and I differ. I would've hated them all."

'dont get me wrong. i hate dumbledore for hiding it from me...but i dont hate him that much.'

"Continue your story." He was enjoying hearing River's life story. He somehow felt as if he knew her better.

'i was really anti DE.' she smiles at the memory. 'I used to just have a go at them all...then i went to far with crouch. He read my mind, and found a memory in there of our mother.' She sighs. 'That was awkward. it took ages for us to trust each other. he hated what i was, i hated what he was. the fights we had...'

He smiled, amused. "You make them sound like fond memories, not fights."

'Well, i dont think we would be the way we are now if we didnt have them.'

"Persecution builds character." He sighed and rested his head against the tree trunk. "I'm tired..."

'then go to sleep. mt story can contunite another time.'

He put an arm around her and held her against him. He fell asleep quickly.

She rolled her eyes, and kissed him lightly, curling up in his arms.

He was sat with hia back against tree, a small book in his hand. hewasnt reading it, but felt it stupid to be sat outside doing nothing
