Grand Staircase

Sam screams, now in a panic.  "NOOO!!!"  Jack jumps after her, slowing her fall with his mind so he can catch her and get her down safely.

Crouch stared down and slammed his fist down on the banister. He wanted to just jump down and end them all, but he could feel his rationality returning like a virus. He knew he was very much worn out from that battle. He needed to regain his strength first...

He turned and ran into a hallway to escape.

Sam's breathing is very shaky.  She's alive.  But everywhere aches.  She closes her eyes, exhausted and weak.

Jack takes deep breaths, just laying on the smoothest part of the floor, closing his eyes as well, Sam next to him.  He holds her as he should have her whole life, comforting her like the father he's always wanted to be.  "You're safe now... Crouch is gone..."
