'That your family's background isn't exactly flowers and sunshine.'

"Yep, that's the understatement of a life time."

"Or rather... a AFTERlife time, get it?!" I nudge her playfully and start laughing at my own joke.

Sydnay started chuckling again, shaking her head. 'That was so bad it was funny...' The girl punched his arm lightly, not feeling the neccessity to be so downtrodden and serious for once.

"That's me, Prince of Puns!!"

'I can understand what Crest saw in you, you're easy to get along with..' she murmured to herself, musing.

"Yeah I guess I am! Kind of a break from the serious lifestyle, you know?"

'Seems like something he could really depend on to..' she smiled wisftully.

"I guess more than I ever realized... I mean, sure I was a fun guy but I didn't think worth wanting to avenge or anything."

'You were his best friend, what did you expect?'

"I don't know, him to move on, keep pranking people..."

'Grief takes time, sometimes people can't let go, they don't want to..'

"Well at least he's trying again now! I really hope he pulls it off!"

'As long as he's got Sam, i'm sure he can. She brings out his light-hearted side.'

"Yeah too bad I never got to meet her, she seems pretty cool." I stare down at the pair for a bit.

'I suppose we all have wishes up here... I guess in an ideal world i would've apologised properly to Phoenix and Eugene for being such a biatch.'

"well I guess we just have to wait until they're up here.. which knowing my cousin, will probably be a while..."

'Mine too. But hey, at least you aren't alone.' she gave him another nudge, smiling.

'Bryn...?' Sydnay was perched beside her brother, both of the siblings watching the current fight with an odd fixation. 'What the hell do you think's going to happen?' She was asking for her brother's opinion, something she did often these days.

'I honestly don't know Syd..' he murmured, giving her a friendly hug. 'But May will be alright, she always is.' Concern furrowed his face, but he still continued watching.

'I don't like this at all.' Sydnay muttered, taking in the scene again. 'Guess all we can do is sit and watch, eh?'

They were sitting together just watching Bryn and Teddy. Nicolae would smile at just about everything Teddy said. It was clear that she missed him.

Tide was just watching them, wishing he was down there with Mer. He was jealous that Bryn got a second chance, but there was nothing he could do about it.

When Teddy began talking about Tide's death he sat up and listened closely.

"We think he was murdered."

Teddy's words rang through Tide's ears. He looked over at Nicolae. She was here, probably watching when Tide died. "Was I?" he asked.

Nicolae didn't give anything away, just kept watching.

'You can do it brother.' she whispered, feeling tears prick her eyelids. Sydnay would never admit to the ache forming in her chest again. Of course, she was overjoyed with the fact her family was going to be stable again, happy again...

But she had been abandoned, she was compeltely and utterly alone.

She wasn't sat far from Tide and Nicolae, watching the various exchanges, wondering how her afterlife had also been condemmed.

Tide looked over to Sydnay. "I'm sorry he's gone."

Nicolae peered over as well, but looked back down at Teddy and Bryn.

'It's fine.. they'll be back soon enough.' she mumbled in a lame response. only 50 years or so.

Tide moved over so that he was sitting next to Sydnay. "If it helps anything, we're still here."

Nicolae laughed. "Yeah, like that'll help much Tide."

'It does, actually.' a smile formed on her lips. 'After all, you care about the people I also care about. We're practically family.'

Tide smirked at Nicolae. "I hate seeing them though and not being able to do anything about it. And if I were to have my way, in a few years or so I would've asked Mer to marry me." He thought of all the things that they would've done together. It nearly killed him, no pun intended, to think about it.
