Taking my own step forward in challenge I respond, "I haven't. Because I don't need to."

"I don't need you, I have enough friends to help me."

"maybe I'm just doing it to piss you off..."

Jumping in front of the girl, I draw my wand and point it at Lukas, "Don't you think about it."

"Calm down! I'm not going to hurt you." I lower my wand to my side but keep it pointed at Lukas.

He was stepping backwards, remaining plain faced.

The girl shook even more, stumbling away from Artisan until she tripped, catching her robes on a set of rocks. The stench filtered into the air first, the scent of skin being broken...

Clever bastard...

But luckily, being only a half vampire, the urge for blood didn't flow in me quite as strong as a normal vampire. It was still difficult to resist, but much less than a normal 3 day old vampire.

Normally I'd help the girl but I don't trust myself to fully control my instincts just yet. The best thing I can do for the girl is clear the area. With that last thought, I utter an apology to her and run off.

I shiver slightly when I look over what the battlefield had been. I can still clearly see people performing deadly yet beautiful dances over the grounds by the lake. I can imagine the chaos my fight with Crouch must have caused; two snapping, snarling wolves eager for the other's blood.

I can still hear the sickening crack of Pixie's leg breaking.

I don't remember much after that. I should have paid attention instead of giving into the guilt over my sister and horror of hearing about Bryn and Sydnay's deaths. Despite everything that happened between Sydnay and I, I wish I'd had an opportunity to apologise to her before she died...

The urge to run - somewhere, I don't know where - is almost overpowering. Even to bolt into the forest as a wolf would be some small relief; I don't have to think then. I thought dealing with the guilt that came with murdering was bad, but grieving is definitely worse, especially when coupled with the gnawing in my stomach with the knowledge of I permanently injured my sister.

I sit cross-legged on the ground by the lake and just watch the water. It's somewhat calming. Sort of. I wish I could have said goodbye to Bryn; he was an amazing person. Kind of like another older brother. I'll miss him.

I worry about Pixie. I know she's forgiven me, but I can't help it. She's never made it a secret that she wishes she'd been the twin to grow up with our parents. Well, I know she'd prefer to if it wouldn't have placed me in the hands of Mortem Macnair, but still. She's bound to be bitter, especially now I've crippled her.

I sigh and bury my face in my hands. We'll have to move on eventually... Bryn and Sydnay's deaths won't be in vain. We have to keep hold of Hogwarts.

Jinx walked along the water's edge enjoying the cold air as she looked out across the glassy water.

Query had gone out to the lake to think about his next riddle with eagle to expose him for the intellectual fraud he is.

Her head turned as she heard footsteps not far from her she smiled a little "Apparently I'm not the only who decided a walk by the water sounded like a good idea."

"Well considering I had it, it goes without saying it was a good idea..."

She smirked a little "I don't think I've seen you before.. I'm Jinx"

"I'll tell you what, answer this question right and I'll tell you my name."

She smiled confidently "alright then. Shoot."

My eyes light up with the prospect of a new challenger, "The one who makes me doesn't use me, the one who buys me doesn't use me, the one who sells me doesn't use me, those that use me don't know they're using me."
