Why was it she seemed to know him inside out?

The man was tense, though once more the cold and collected man he usually was.

"Actually, if you must know, she didn't get the way she was to get wherever she is now. That... wasn't the plan."

A sudden wash of realization crossed Descole, and his expression turned cold and stony, as if thinking about something but... afraid to say anything.

"... Fine. But despite what you think has happened to me, or what you think I might have planned against her, this isn't her fault. I'll be at her trail... I'll fight.. for her."

Descole didn't turn toward Cayden in any way, and yet a soft smile curved over his lips as he spoke what Cynder had told him when she had agreed to going into a plan with him.

"Even the darkest of hearts has light and forgiveness."

Descole sighed and turned now.
And for once, he reached up and pulled his mask from his face, took his hat off.

His brown hair was ruffled, his stormy grey eyes sad.

"I'm aware of that, Cayden. But the time I've spent watching this girl- she's been more then kind. She's like a reflection of Clare... and I can't let her go like that."

Descole's heart clenched, and he frowned, looking down.
But he spoke with an honesty and compassion that seemed impossible for him.

"Clare is dead, but Cynder is a different girl. She deserves a chance at life. Cayden, that girl is more then what people might think."

A pause, he inhaled slowly.

"She... even agreed to letting me transfer Clare's memories and personality into her body when I do at last find Eternal life."

Descole: but we had something special ;-; ))

Descole shrugged, exhaling slowly.

"She both angers me and confuses me, Cayden. But she's precisely like Clare- acts out in selflessness for others despite her own fate. Why she chose to agree to that is beyond me."

Because somewhere, Clare is trying to forgive you...
But he couldn't bring himself to believe it.

cayden: bitch please, you're too hung up over clare.

'I still believe what you're doing has been blinded by grief and destruction, it's all you focus on....' Cayden meant to say he needed to move on, he needed to accept Clare was gone, and even if he did bring her back, he would ruin someone else.

The man's eyes darkened, and he pursed his lips.
Within a matter of moments, his hat and mask were back in place, his stormy eyes shaded away from the world.

"Fine, then. Believe what you wish.... but I'll... get my way."

he's turned back into Fuin again, wlolo.

'But it won't be in the way you wanted.' she said almost as a certainty, her expression neutral and passive as it always was.

The man turned away and let out a cold, defiant laugh.

"No. It'll be precisely how I planned it to be... and it'll leave you wondering why you didn't trust me."

'I do trust you, i just don't trust your intentions.' she said curtly, straightening herself, robes fanning out behind her as she did so.

'I will be taking my leave now, please keep me informed.' she nodded to him as she left the grounds.

The man watched her go coldly.
And the softness that had been in his heart a moment ago faded into anger as he turned swiftly to leave.

Phoenix: I make my way towards the Hall. I feel a hand on my shoulder, so I stop and turn to face the person. "What do you want?"

Darcy: He lets his hand drop to his side and smiles at the girl. "I just want to talk to you, Miss Flame. May I call you something else? I was thinking something to do with ashes... Phoenixes rise from the ashes, do they not? I believe I can do the same for you, dear."

Phoenix: "What do you mean?" I take a wary step back.

Darcy: "You have the potential to be so much more, my dear," he purrs. "You don't need that half-human... I'm a full human, and I can give you power, money... anything you want." She attempts to talk, but Darcy cuts her off. "I'm not done yet, Ember. Yes... I think Ember suits you. The phoenix rises from the embers..."

"Ember, dear, I want the same thing as you. I want the Death Eaters to be gone from this world. It will be possible for me to do the task on my own, but it will be awfully lonely... Won't you join me?" Smiling, he strokes her cheek.


Phoenix: SMACK! The sound of me slapping his cheek rings through the entrance hall for a few seconds. "Piss off," is all I say. "I'm not interested."

Darcy: He doesn't seem fazed by Phoenix's rejection. He chuckles. "You will be, Ember. I always get what I want. You will be no exception." Darcy walks away, leaving Phoenix fuming.

WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP QUOTING FUIN ERGHMAGAWDDD.

He said that? O.o Oops.

He ran into the Hall, searching madly for River. He didn't see her so her ran out again. He had to find her and stop her from making the worse descision of her life.

'i always get my way' and 'i get what i want' are Fuin quotes. always.

Darcy means it in a different way though. He genuinely wants Phoenix to be his partner-in-crime (you brought this upon them, Crouch, so MWAHAHAHAHA!)

Cynder walked back into Howarts with overwhelming joy at being able to return.
Though she couldn't hear the welcoming commotion of people scuttering about on their own business, or return happy greetings verbally, it was still home.

Or, at least, the closest thing.

Cynder inhaled quietly and hugged the written on paper pad to her chest, blinking and trying to get used to not hearing anything but strange whispers of what people might be shouting.
Well, it... wasn't pleasant. And though Descole didn't tell her about this side affect... once they dealt with it, it would all be fine.
